The Nutty Nice Footwear!

Art, Style & Design

I came across these amazing images of shoes.  They might look insane, nevertheless, what fascinates me is the initial thought of what was going through the mind of the designer.  They are wonderful pieces of art I would say.  Would I wear any of them?  ....well, may be this first image below, it look a bit safe but not quite sure how comfortable it would be, but one thing I am sure of is, I would definitely be a show stopper!!!!!,

Aahhemm....... as for the rest, I wouldn't mind displaying them somewhere in my house, wonderful piece of art!  I totally love each one of them.
.....and kudos, for the ladies who attempt to wear them!!!!
Enjoy the genius work.

Out of The Box!!

These are just few of my favorite things!

'Ropes and Yarn' box of course!!!  Isn't it mind boggling to think how much one can do with different things that you can find around.  With a creative mind, one can  utilize basically anything in the environment and 'voila' a masterpiece!!
Many times when I see these kind of creativity, I tend to think, .why didn't I think of that.. or I could have done this, and even more annoying, is when the idea was there already, but only to find out that someone has superseded you!.  Does it ever happen to you?

Back to ropes and yarns.  The first image below is from my favorite yarn shop in London.  This shop just fascinates me  regardless of the number of times I visit.  When I am there, I always discover something new and exciting.  It could be a book, a magazine, a particular yarn or even finding out more about the origin of yarns.  One thing is, I am guaranteed never to leave empty handed.
Enough said, enjoy the images.

Can you imagine what you can do with ropes N yarns?
......just grab em..... n go crazy cool with them!

Contrast Art & Clothes Show @ London's T47

Early in September, I had an opportunity to showcase my designs at the Art Exhibition organised by Erwin Michalec of Art Contrast.  It was a pleasure!
T47 venue is an Indoor sports centre under spacious railway arches underneath London Bridge.

This sport centre turned into an evening of magnificent art work exhibition that was on either side of the dome like white brick wall, jewellery designer Anna Kubicka displayed her unique jewelleries, live band and and of course, the Anna Luks clothes show.  Guest seemed to have a wonderful time entertained by music and solo guitarist singer performer in between the two intervals of the clothes show.

Men at Yohji's

Yohji Yamamoto's Spring 2012 Groove!

When it comes to Japanese designers Yohji Yamaoto, Kenzo and Rei Kawakubo (comme des Garcons) are my biggest inspiration.
I like the fact that most of their designs have a sense of fun and a 'so what' kind of feeling!

I could just imagine them enjoying around creating amazing master pieces.  In my experience in designing, I do not take things serious and just enjoy creating and learning through my mistakes.  In designing depending on a situation mistakes can be a whole new venue to look into.

These designer are known for their avant-garde designs.  Their draping in varying textures and use of prints and techniques, and the way they incorporate their traditional wear into the now and beyond, is truly amazing.  This is what sets them apart and they do not bother with trends.  I love that!

Yohji had his exquisite exhibition at the V&A this year, which I found myself visiting this exhibition twice.  A thing that I had never done before.  I was totally blown away not only by the luxuriousness in the fabrics and colours that he used for his collections, but with the cuts and techniques that he applied on his designs, a true genius!

The man himself.  Described as a man of very few words!

I was mostly intrigued by his new men's collection.  I denote a touch of Japanese tradition is the trade mark, yet stylish, unique, masculine ...... I perceive it to be simply cool.
Here are few of my favourites that I have chosen to share with you..... Enjoy!

So cool!!!
