I Have My Eyes On You!!

Ready or not, London Fashion Week has kicked off!!  
The season calling all fashionistas, buyers, photographers, fashion editors, creatives of all sorts, and spectators.  The curiosity of who has done what and how!  

However, my long-awaited show and designers so far, were at the New York Fashion Week this September. Sitting quietly and attentively on my computer observing, as usual.  As an artist and a designer, I do not just stop on a clean cut clothing.   I naturally find myself drawn into artistic creations. Obviously, I love art incorporated in clothing.  

I have been waiting patiently this season to see my favorite designers ThreeasFour wondering what they would come up with. Although it does not really matter what they come up with, it always wows me anyway!  Their designs and detailing is superb, not to mention the style and best of all, it is wearable!!  

I have picked a few of my favorite pieces, I hope you will agree with me too.

International Fashion Showcase 2013

British Fashion Council 

This year, my country Tanzania was invited by the British Fashion Council to take part in its 2nd year running event i.e. International Fashion Showcase.  

London Fashion Week in February 2013

The British Council and the British Fashion Council jointly put this occasion together, that went alongside the London Fashion Week in February 2013.

Tanzania was proud to present four designers.  Jacquline Kibacha (Heart 365), Christine Mhando (Chichia), myself (Anna Luks) and Mtani Nyamakababi (Kali Elegance).  Unfortunately, Kali Elegance who is specialised in bespoke menswear was not able to participate in the exhibition due to some unforeseen reasons.

The Spectacular Antoni & Alison Show

As LFW is behind us now, I would like to share with you one of my favorite shows that have inspired me a great deal.

It is the show of designers Antoni Burakwski and Alishon Roberts, otherwise, known as Antoni & Alison.  

The show gracefully opened the doors on day 1 of  LFW with a literal bang of a live brass band.  It was indeed their special day, not only being the first show but also celebrating their silver anniversary.   A vibrant story of playful eye-catching prints, effortlessly chic, and simply 'zip-up-and-go' style.  After following up on the week's show, I had come to the conclusion that Antoni & Alison were definitely my favorite by far on LFW 2012.

Personally, it ticked Anna Luks style of prints, fun, and colour.  A&A's collection was a marriage of style and artwork which I like and every piece told a different story yet very harmonious. Love it!

I like this;  A quote from The Independent   "This time has been like an incredible apprenticeship," they state.  "We have love being 'Antoni & Alison'; we have loved being an independent label.  We design from scratch each season, experimenting with the need to find and have 'good ideas', and sometimes using our 'bad ideas."
