Fashion Flashback

Anna Luks on the Road

I stumbled across this video clip that I never knew existed. What a coincidence!
Exactly a year and 2 days ago,  I was invited to showcase my work at the Face of Fashion4Africa model contest which was held at the Africa Center in London's Convent Garden on the 11th December 2010.
This was the first Anna Luks show to the public.
It was such an honor just to be there with other fantastic African designers.  The highlight was when model Samira Hashi won the contest wearing Anna Luks.

Out of The Box!!

These are just few of my favorite things!

'Ropes and Yarn' box of course!!!  Isn't it mind boggling to think how much one can do with different things that you can find around.  With a creative mind, one can  utilize basically anything in the environment and 'voila' a masterpiece!!
Many times when I see these kind of creativity, I tend to think, .why didn't I think of that.. or I could have done this, and even more annoying, is when the idea was there already, but only to find out that someone has superseded you!.  Does it ever happen to you?

Back to ropes and yarns.  The first image below is from my favorite yarn shop in London.  This shop just fascinates me  regardless of the number of times I visit.  When I am there, I always discover something new and exciting.  It could be a book, a magazine, a particular yarn or even finding out more about the origin of yarns.  One thing is, I am guaranteed never to leave empty handed.
Enough said, enjoy the images.

Can you imagine what you can do with ropes N yarns?
......just grab em..... n go crazy cool with them!

Contrast Art & Clothes Show @ London's T47

Early in September, I had an opportunity to showcase my designs at the Art Exhibition organised by Erwin Michalec of Art Contrast.  It was a pleasure!
T47 venue is an Indoor sports centre under spacious railway arches underneath London Bridge.

This sport centre turned into an evening of magnificent art work exhibition that was on either side of the dome like white brick wall, jewellery designer Anna Kubicka displayed her unique jewelleries, live band and and of course, the Anna Luks clothes show.  Guest seemed to have a wonderful time entertained by music and solo guitarist singer performer in between the two intervals of the clothes show.

The Rope Lady

..... is Jestina George

Jestina George is a Tanzanian model/blogger who lives in London.
Jestina is wearing a bodysuit made out of silk jersey fabric with Anna Luks original print from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection (Colour Explosion).

Wrapped in ropes as I have mentioned in my earlier posts, this collection was inspired by Japanese rope bondage.

Jestina recently featured on the LGN Summer show which was held at the Alto Private Members venue in Central London UK on the 8th July 2011.

Jestina opened the Anna Luks catwalk with Anna Luks signature of prints and ropes after the amazing entrance that Jestina put up, she then made way for my new collection called 'Jungle Paradise'.
